These are 5 types of vaginal bumps that every woman must be aware of
There is so much to know about the vagina. We’ve already told you about things a woman should never do to her vagina and also how every man must know some things about the female organ. This time however we will tell you something about vaginal bumps. Women have to take lot of efforts to make sure the vagina is healthy and hygienic. Waxing, shaving, cleansing with powders or liquids – all this is the usual routine of keeping the personal area clean and healthy. However there is a downside to this and that is all this may lead to irritation or rashes. Sometimes it also leads to vaginal itching. If you have noticed some weird looking bumps on your vagina and you have been wondering what it is, we are here to clear your confusion. We will tell you the 5 different types of vaginal bumps and what they most likely can be.
A small boil-like thing near the vaginal opening
This can be something called the Bartholin’s cyst. If it is this cyst, the bump will be pretty small and painful when you touch it. It usually occurs right next to the vaginal opening. This happens when the glands on the side of the vagina is blocked and the fluids that need to be secreted get stuck in the gland. It’s is nothing to worry about even though the medical name sounds all serious. Use a towel soaked in warm water and press it on the bump. This should treat it. If not, you can consult a physician and get medicines prescribed. In some cases, you might also get fever or chills, that’s when you need to visit the doctor because the cyst needs to be drained off removing all the liquid. This again is a simple procedure and there is nothing to worry about.
Hair bumps
Hair bumps are nothing but ingrown hair that appear after you have shaved. If you shave your pubic hair or even get it waxed, there are chances of you getting those hair bumps. The hair that is supposed to grow outside curls back inside the skin and grows inside. This is what causes an ingrown hair bump. It can cause inflammation or even pus. This can also happen because you may have used too much of soap down there, sanitary napkins, wipes or even saliva and semen. The best you could do is make sure your vagina is clean before or after grooming. Eventually with routine care, your problem of ingrown hair will be solved.
Blisters filled with pus
These are normal vagina boils that come with pus. Sounds scary, but you can relax. This again can be because of your grooming methods or it can also be because of your diet. When your body has a lot of heat, it can lead to boils down there. Reasons can be multiple – poor diet, wrong grooming methods, using dull razors and wearing underwear of the wrong fabric. Pus-filled blisters can be really annoying. Sometimes it also emits a foul smell. No matter how irritating the boil is, never squeeze it. Just give it some compression with a towel soaked in warm water. Always wear loose pants and underwear if you have a pus filled boil down there. If the boil doesn’t go off in some days, visit a doctor. Sometimes, only a professional can help you drain out all the pus.
Skin shade down in some area is lighter or darker than usual
If some patches of skin on your vagina seems to be a little lighter or darker than the usual one, then chances are it is a benign mole. Before you freak out, this is nothing dangerous. If you have a patch of skin that is different in color, it probably is a benign mole. A benign mole is often a skin patch in a different tone. It is not itchy or irritating. If it is, all you need to do is visit the doctor. This will at least give you some peace of mind.
Skin colored pimples
If you have ever spotted pimples that have no pus and are skin colored, then they can be Syringoma. This occurs because the sweat ducts get blocked and it usually appears on the top most area of your vagina. These skin colored pimples can grow bigger and they are pretty harmless. It will heal on its own and thus you don’t need to do much to treat it, especially avoid popping it out. Whenever you are back home from work, change your underwear every single day. Do not let the sweat be there for a long time.
